Cosmetic Formulator Certificate Course CERTIFICATE IN TRAINING OF TECHNICIAN OF COSMETICS INGREDIENTS ALLOTMENT

Cosmetic formulation analyses the different ingredients of products from multiple perspectives. This course enables students to master basic cosmetic formulation techniques and related product functions, enhances their professional competence in cosmetic application, and improves the relevant knowledge and skills of both cosmetic practitioners and users. The course is suitable for beauty product sales personnel, beauty product operators, beauty consultants and frequent users of cosmetics.

Course Content – Concepts of Cosmetic Formulation

- Understanding of oils, fats, waxes, fatty acids and fatty alcohols - Understanding of water-based ingredients and common skin problems, commonly used Chinese herbal medicines - Concepts of surfactants - HLB value calculation basis - Sun Protection Factor (SPF) - Skin physiology and structure - Soap-based and soap-free cleansing products - Understanding of hair care products - Standards for medicated cosmetics, overseas and local regulations - Basic concepts of physical chemistry (Newtonian flow, non-Newtonian flow, wetting action, dispersion) - Fragrance science - Understanding of antibacterial and preservative agents - Application and understanding of formulation technology - Beauty psychology

Students are required to complete two assignments, which together account for 40% of the assessment, while the written examination accounts for the remaining 60%. Students who pass the examination and achieve an attendance rate of 80% will be awarded the International Cosmetic Formulator Professional Training Certificate issued by Beauty Expert International Academy.
